If approached by the autostrada going south from Florence towards Rome, you turn off at the intersection after Firenze Sud and Inciza called Valdarno. Immediately after leaving the toll booth, turn right then in about 1 mile turn left into a town called Terra Nouva Bracciollini. Go around the town and follow a sign post, a few miles drive, to San Guistino Valdarno. Passing though San Guistino Valdarno, in about one mile, there is a left turn signposted to Talla.
This is 13 km of beautiful drive through the mountain pass. About 1 ½ miles above Talla itself is a left turning to Santo Bagnena. Bagnena itself lies a few hundred feet up the mountain, but it can seen from Santo Bagnena.
If approaching from Rome, or if you prefer a less mountainous drive, you turn off the autostrada at the Arezzo junction. Follow the signposts around Arezzo marked Bibbiena. Keep on the road to Bibbiena until you arrive at a village called Rassina where you turn left to Talla, about 4 miles away.
